Welcome. After writing the book, TATTOO—Journeys on My Mind, I learned the new age author is expected to have a website (Lipstick on Jenga). After creating a website, I learned I must update it with quality text (travel posts) to keep it alive in the internet search engines. An audio version is now available. My second book, Characters of Huffinfield, was published on June 1, 2022. Ever a work in progress, here is how it all started.
My mother always said I should write a book about my travels. She suggested I call it “Girl on the Loose.” Traveling to see what is on the other side of the mountain is something I have pursued with vigor. It has kept me aware of how I want to live my life. How? It reminds me that life is not always as it seems and what I may have considered to be inherently human sometimes proves merely indicative of where I am from. Mark Twain wrote: “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.” Or you’re not doing it right! In only 3 months of home comfort, I re-learn my complacency and re-find my sure-footed stance in the middle of the road. But it is good to live on the edge sometimes. It helps me remember. As E.E. Cummings wrote: “but only the snow can begin to explain how children are apt to forget to remember.” These 21 short stories share moments that left an indelible mark; hence, my TATTOO.
