In June, I was earnestly studying language on DuoLingo.com. I perfected my details, adding two day trips to my itinerary.
Enter, the Delta Variant. My destination was among the top ten to avoid because of COVID. In August, I’m postponing to 2022.
Fortunately, my flexible air fare was fully refunded. My tours were graciously postponed to 2022. My refundable lodging reservations were cancelled without follow up questions. I left my DuoLingo studies, hoping I’ll review what I’ve learned before taking up the task again, in earnest.
I feel relieved that I have made the decision. Life is good. Too good to take stupid chances. My mom had a tube in her throat and her arm tied to her hospital bed post so she wouldn’t pull it out. I don’t want to go there.
My next book, Characters of Huffinfield, is a Pandemic project, looking at the current events and sharing my imagination. Speaking of fiction and current events, I highly recommend Bernice L. McFadden’s OBF, Inc. This is a podcast with three stories about employment challenges, and hers is the last.
